Research Time
At the end of every book there are the beginning thoughts for the next book. When I finished Message in the Skye the first thing I wanted to do was to continue the story and keep writing the next book in the series. I immediately started formulating the storyline in my mind. But, as the old saying goes, haste makes waste. So, I am taking the time to do my research and rediscover the history of Scotland. When I get start writing again there will be amazing adventures to tell and the description will be alive with reality. I can already tell you that the next book starts out with mystery and action on the first page. The forces are already in place for Kiska to be in deeper trouble than in either of the previous books. My imagination had gone into overdrive for this one and I can't wait to get started.

Ebook promotion at Smashwords
If you love to read ebooks this week is a great one for you. E-publisher, Smashwords, is celebrating a special week by offering discounts on many of their books. That means if you are waiting for a certain book to go on sale, now might be the time to check it out. This offer is only good for one week and only at Smashwords, not other e-readers. The first book in my Kiska highland series, The Pictorial Adventure, will be on sale too. So, if you have not yet read it, now would be a great time.

Reading an ebook
Did you know that you don't need a Kindle or a Nook to read an ebook? A free Kindle App can be downloaded onto a PC or a Mac and you are ready to order any books you want through your Amazon account. It is very simple. It certainly is a great thing to have in this cold weather. One click of your finger and you have access to any books you want to read without going out in the cold to shop for a book. I love ebooks!

Message in the Skye -----coming in March
Message in the Skye, Kiska's next adventure is almost finished. I am in the final stages of editing it. Hopefully it will be available by March. In this sequel Kiska develops deeper relationships with many of the people you were introduced to in the first book as she searches for more information about her mother. When she unexpectedly discovers secrets from her mother's past, she is once again in grave danger. I hope you will join me in another roller coaster ride through Scotland to one of the most beautiful islands in the country.

Family Literacy Month in November
As part of Family Literacy Month in November local authors were asked by Dr. Darlene Rittel, Chair, ACEA-R Family Literacy project, to read to the preschoolers at the Freedman Parenting Center. As a former teacher I was more than happy to read to the children. But I had never been to this particular school and had no idea what to expect. What an amazing experience it was! I was totally impressed with the outstanding staff who welcomed me with open arms and a group of kids that were so sweet and wonderful! I am not sure who gained more from the experience. When I left I felt like it had been a priviledge to have been there. I can not thank them enough for asking me to take part in such a great program and for introducing me to some wonderful people! I had such a great time. Take my advice, if you are ever asked to read to a group of kids, do it. It will warm your heart! It was one more thing to be thankful for in this wonderful holiday season.
